Predictor — Product design / UX audit

2026

Website

Predictor is a media platform built around prediction markets, where users can follow current events, explore markets, and predict their outcomes.

UX audit

The goal of the project was to conduct a UX audit and introduce targeted changes to improve usability. The existing UI and design system were kept largely intact, with only specific areas redesigned.

Home

Home was redesigned as the main discovery point for markets, news, media, and recently viewed content, bringing key discovery flows together and reducing the need to move between separate sections.

  • The top of Home: a market card asking who Trump will nominate as Fed Chair, with Kevin Warsh at 94 per cent, Judy Shelton at 4 per cent and the traded volume underneath
  • Home scrolled to the trending markets: a card about a government shutdown on February 14 with Yes at 78 per cent and No at 22 per cent, each showing what $100 would pay out
  • Home scrolled to Talking Points: a swipeable row of video cards with news headlines about Trump

Feed

Predictor is built around real-time events, so quick access to news is essential. The Feed brings this content into a familiar short-form format inspired by TikTok, making current stories easier to browse and engage with.

The main challenge was fitting vertical video into a space-limited layout.

The Feed: a vertical video from a media account with like, comment and share counts, the market question “Will Canelo Álvarez fight David Benavidez in 2026?” under it and a Predict button

Media widget

A separate part of the project focused on an embeddable Predictor widget for partner media sites. The widget connects an article to a relevant prediction market and lets readers interact with it directly from the publisher’s page without interrupting the reading experience.

Because the partner publishers are well-known and limited in number, a single Predictor-styled widget could easily feel like an ad and be ignored. Instead, each version adapts to the publisher’s design system, making the experience feel more native and trustworthy.

  • A TIME article about the Moon with the widget pinned at the bottom in TIME’s own style: a white card with the TIME logo and a red accent, the market “Will Artemis II launch on schedule in April 2026?” and an Open details button
  • The widget opened over the article: a Time × Predictor card with the Buffalo Bills market, Yes at 72 per cent against No at 38 per cent, the volume, a countdown and a Place a prediction button

Wallet

Wallet was reorganized around the information users check most often. Current balance, profit and loss, and open positions were brought higher in the hierarchy to make financial status easier to scan.

  • The top of Wallet: the total balance split into available and portfolio money, Add funds and Withdraw buttons, and a profit and loss chart underneath
  • Wallet scrolled to open positions: four markets with the side taken, the price it moved from and to, and the money made or lost on each
  • Wallet scrolled to key stats and transactions: max win, volume traded, markets traded, and a list of deposits, buys and sells
